Major Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary caregiver in the classroom for three children. Provides active learning by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate individualized experiences in a safe and nurturing environment in which six-weeks to 18-month old children can enhance perceptual, physical development, language and literacy skills, cognitive development, social and emotional development and develop age-appropriate social and self help skills.
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships with parents as partners in their child's learning process.
- Conduct developmental screenings, observations, and on-going assessments to inform the development and implementation of monthly goals for each child.
- Conduct Home Visits and Parent/Teacher Conferences throughout the year to strengthen the home/school coordination of activities for the child. Work with parents to establish and evaluate developmental goals for the child.
- Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and their families. Salary Range

- State of NM ECE professional development hours provided by Head Start. The Head Start Teacher works under the supervision of the agency's Education Services Manager.
